My husband and I recently bought a new home and had to coordinate the painting to be done weeks before closing and moving in. From the initial phone consultation, Francis was very kind, professional, patient and understanding of our circumstance. He was able to quote the job (approximate), and secure the time to meet and work with us before even seeing the project, which brought us much comfort and peace of mind- knowing that our home would be painted immediately once receiving our keys. Francis was very accommodating, flexible, and helpful during the entire process. He gave us options along the way (as we were trying to be cost-efficient) and tips on other jobs. It is obvious that Francis is very experienced and knowledgeable based on the amount of attention paid to detail and his willingness to teach and share. Lindeman Contracting Inc. Review We hired Francis to clean and re-stain our almost three-year-old cedar deck. He produced an estimate promptly, and was able to start work less than a week later. He and his assistant arrived on time, and worked through to the afternoon to prepare the deck for staining. During the course of working, Francis pointed out that the deck boards had been placed flush, one right up against another, so there was no room for drainage. The dirt he power-washed from the boards was almost algae-like! He suggested that it would be better for the structure, and the expensive wood, if the boards were re-laid, with an appropriate gap between each one. We agreed. In the meantime, staining went ahead the following day. It already looked so much better! Francis adjusted his schedule so that he could come back the following week to re-set the deck boards. It was an all-day job, but he has high standards (as do we!), and insisted it be done properly. Each board had to be hand-sanded along its edges due to the mold/algae-like growth. He also took it upon himself to re-stain the hand rails at each side of the deck. He felt that one coat of stain still left the surface too rough. After giving one small corner of the deck a second coat, just to see how it would look, he felt a second coat all over would be best for the appearance and health of the wood. There was no question, this was the way to go. Again, he juggled his schedule to come back two days later and apply a second coat of stain. It looked terrific! He also took it upon himself to redo the step in front of the deck, which had been badly constructed. Those boards were also re-set with the appropriate space between them. In all, the job took longer – and was more expensive – that we had initially expected, but it was totally worth it. We felt we were finally in the hands of a complete professional. Francis has a very strong work ethic, and believes that his work reflects his values. We’re delighted he feels this way – it’s a rare quality, in our experience. We intend to hire him again (in fact, more than once!), and feel confident in his skill and professionalism!

Reliable, Great Work Ethic and Quality Workmanship. Francis responded very quickly to our add and we worked out the work details and price in a very easy manner. He started the week following the agreement and finished the job in 2 weeks. (by being there most days and putting in long hours). The bathroom is fantastic and he was able to make many decisions without us being there. (We are from Toronto and he did the work at our cottage). In a area that is Famous for Contractors not showing up or calling to cancel an appointment, It was a breath of fresh air to deal with Francis and his crew. From the start it was obvious that they cared about the quality which they provided. They Showed up every Day to the Job and on time. Francis and his crew were all Very respectful and highly professional at all times. Along the way there was some custom work we wanted done that wasn’t quoted for but Francis had no problem fitting these extra jobs into his work schedule. I have never seen my wife so happy with the results of her new kitchen and living room. We had another contractor in to do the Bathroom years ago and it was nothing but a nightmare. Lindeman Contracting review. I recently completed a home renovation involving significant changes to our kitchen, washroom and laundry room along with the addition of a hall closet and master walk-in closet and laundry room combination. I hired Lindeman Contracting for the renovations and was very happy with the attention and commitment that Francis Lindeman and his partner Kyle in completing the job in a timely manner and keeping to a tight schedule we had established. I was particularly happy with Francis and Kyles scheduling they always arrived on time and worked diligently to complete the tasks. Kyle was focused on completing all the plumbing and bathroom changes including tiling while Francis focused on the framing, electrical and adding the shiplap to the ceiling which turned out fantastic. The bathroom remodel consisted of expanding the size of the bathroom increasing the ceiling height adding a new large soaker tub and vanity as well as building a custom shower stall. Although the plumbing was complicated Kyle handled the task with expertise. The structural work for the framing required the addition of a beam to allow for a closet opening and was completed without incident and maintaining the structural integrity of all load bearing walls. Francis provided valuable advice with respect to design which produced a better outcome. We had some limitations fitting the new bathroom fixtures due to the size of the bathroom and Francis was able to reframe the room in a manner which significantly increased the bathroom size allowing for proper placement of the fixtures and creating a spacious well-organized bathroom. The job also consisted of demolition and installing porcelain wood looking tiles which created a good looking resilient floor throughout the kitchen bathroom and laundry room. I had several contractors bid on the job but I found Francis’ experience and understanding of what I wanted to accomplish advantageous as he would handle all the requirements without having to hire and manage additional contractors. I would recommend anyone looking to do a major renovation consider using Lindeman Contracting as they were easy to work with, and reliable tackling the job without excuses or limitations. Highly recommend! Would use again! We had Francis convert a 2 piece bath to a 3 piece bath, completely gut and redo the other 2 baths, add and change locations of a few walls, and hang all new doors and trim out. His crew also did the finishing work of tiling, painting, etc. His quote was clear and detailed and he honored it. We found numerous problems in the house (from the former owners and original construction). Francis informed us each time – and the additional work was completed for a very fair cost. I’m actually very happy to have found the problems – as they were quietly there, and now my cottage is dry, and safe (and we don’t have to worry about future damage). His crew were lovely to work with. Helpful, and flexible. I did make a few changes and added items on (outside of the quote). Francis was completely open to working with us, and accommodated our changes with a clear outline of cost differences. The crew was also super-tidy. We were using our cottage on the weekends while the construction was underway. He planned his job around completion points that would allow us to continue to use and enjoy the cottage on our times up there, and they cleaned all the construction materials up and packed away tools, so that the cottage was safe for our kids and dogs. Great crew. Great experience. Great outcome.

Francis and Kyle were excellent to have working for us they shower up every day from eight to five answered all questions and gave excellent advice to enhance the reno. His final bill was very close to the estimate give with a detail explanation on the bill itself. Would highly recommend them for any household renovations top quality work very professional.

My husband found Francis Lindeman on-line and we are ecstatic with the results! This was our first renovation and we had reservations of finding the right contractor. Francis was concise,organized and very personal. He is incredibly talented, finishing our basement right on-time, and on budget as promised. He listened to our needs, and was very accommodating to any changes we made along the way. He shared his knowledge and gave us some suggestions that worked very well for our barn-board wine cellar/entertainment section. Every day they arrived on time and left each day leaving the job site very clean and tidy. I was referred to and hired Francis to renovate my home three years ago and he is still my “go to” guy for all things home related…including the upcoming installation of new doors and windows (the last phase in a four phase renovation). My renovation project included demolition, new basement, new bathrooms, reconfigured floor plans, new kitchen, new electrical, lighting, duct work and plumbing, new cedar decking, renovated front porch and entrance, etc. — and Francis completed it all on time, on budget. I love working with Francis…he is an expert at what he does, is responsive, patient and collaborative and he adds alot of extra value to my projects. I’ve learned a lot from him. I always feel better when Francis is on the scene and I trust him explicitly. He cared as much about my project as I did…and he took great care to ensure the integrity of my +100 year old house. Recommended to us by trusted neighbours and we had the opportunity to see Mr. Lindeman’s finished work in more than one home. Superb workmanship and attention to detail. Very creative and innovative with his carpentry skills. Very meticulous with the tile work in the bathroom. No short cuts, city by-laws all respected and work approved by city inspectors. Provided an accurate written quote prior to commencing work. Stayed within budget for original work and stayed within quotes for additional work and / or upgrades as the project progressed – as the new features were added, we noticed that older features were looking dated and had to be replaced. Mr. Lindeman left the house as clean as possible after every workday and if tools had to be left overnight, they were kept together in a place that would not be disruptive. Keep in mind that the dust is inevitable and a good cleaning and duct cleaning is in order once the job is complete. It helps to keep doors of unaffected rooms closed and to remove as much as you can from walls and areas that will be high-traffic during the job. All garbage was removed in a timely fashion. Timing is never perfect – with an old house, there will be surprises that will extend the job and with exterior work, weather will always be a factor. We have asked Mr. Lindeman to return in the spring to take care of a couple of new projects. Mr. Lindeman’s rates reflect the quality of work you may expect. During our research, we found no complaints with the Consumer Protection Branch of the Ontario Ministry of Government Services or the BBB. He was also readily able to provide proof of his liability insurance information. We’ve already been pleased to recommended Lindeman Contracting to others. We intended to finish the basement ourselves as we have done numerous times before in our own homes as well as for relatives. Therefore we are very knowledgeable in building codes and know everything that needs to be done to finish our basement properly. Life is busy and pending health issues caused us to seek an alternative this time. We previously pulled the permits and had a design but we were unable to complete. Hiring a contractor for this big of a project was a new experience for us. Through the process of contacting contractors and having meetings to go through plans and discuss our budget we decided to hire Lindeman Contracting. The reasons were not that he was the cheapest nor was he the most expensive but the fact during the interview he was one of the most knowledgeable and professional. We already had purchased all the flooring and some building materials that Francis used up and had reduced his quote accordingly. We had an existing bathroom in the basement but wanted it enlarged to make more useable space and the end results were well worth it. Lindeman Contracting knows the building codes and supplied and installed the proper Egress window (hopper style) for the basement bedroom to be legal. Frances listened to our ideas and incorporated any changes that we wanted with fair pricing. He finished on time and budget. During the weeks of construction, Frances was punctual, consistent and completed each step of project in timely fashion. The only thing that Francis could improve on is cleanliness of work area. My husband and I recently underwent a kitchen renovation. Due to some unfortunate circumstances our previous contractor that was referred to us by our cabinet company bailed on us and left us in a pretty big bind. To find a contractor on such short notice (who was actually good) was pretty difficult, but Lindeman contracting pulled through! Not only were they able to meet our very tight deadline, they did it was utter perfection. All of my dreams of our new kitchen came to light with the help of Lindeman Contracting. Extra attention to detail was taking with trim, moulding and our tongue and groove ceiling. The paint and backsplash were exactly what we wanted. The best part about them is that when I wasn’t sure about something they would come back again and again until I was 100% satisfied with how it looked. Although we may have been “those clients” who drove them nuts, not once did you ever see annoyance or anger from them! Another great thing was that Lindeman Contracting did it, from electrical to plumbing to tiling to paint. It was comforting to know we didn’t have to project manage five different trades!
